The EPS Branch of the Department of Foreign Employment is starting the first-phase EPS Korean Language Test (EPS-TOPIK) for the Production Sector from Monday, Mangsir 1, 2082. This examination is for Nepali workers seeking employment opportunities in South Korea in 2025 under the Employment Permit System (EPS).

A total of 102,000+ applicants submitted forms to participate in the EPS-TOPIK this year. Out of them, 67,000 candidates from the production sector will appear for the exam in the first phase beginning Monday.

Requests From Candidates Already in the Roster

Many youths who are already on the roster for employment in South Korea have asked authorities not to conduct a new language test until they are sent to Korea. Despite these requests, the EPS Branch has decided to move forward with the scheduled tests.

Exam Schedule for Production Sector (First Phase)

  • Total applicants for EPS-TOPIK 2025: 102,515

  • Candidates in production sector: 67,000

  • Exam start date: Mangsir 1, 2082

  • Estimated duration: Within 2 months

Nepal and South Korea will simultaneously publish the language test notices on Monday, marking the formal beginning of the examination process.

Agriculture & Livestock Sector Exams to Be Held Separately

The EPS Branch is also arranging a separate examination schedule for the 35,000 candidates in the agriculture and livestock sector. Their language test will be conducted on a different date, which will be announced soon.

South Korea Requests the Highest Number of Workers From Nepal

Among the 17 countries participating in the EPS program, Nepal has been allocated one of the largest worker quotas. South Korea has been preparing to conduct the language test to bring in a significant number of Nepali workers in the coming year.

However, authorities have warned that any delay in conducting the language test within Nepal may lead to the possibility of the current worker quota being shifted to other EPS countries.
