What is the IOE Entrance Examination?

The Institute of Engineering (IOE) entrance examination is a highly competitive and prestigious exam in Nepal. It is conducted annually by Tribhuvan University, Institute of Engineering, which is recognized for its excellence in engineering education. The IOE offers various undergraduate programs including Bachelor of Engineering (BE), Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Information Technology (BSc. CSIT), and Bachelor of Architecture (B.ARCH).

Exam Pattern 

The IOE entrance examination is Computer Based Test (CBT) and comprises two parts A and B, in total of 140 marks: 

• Part A: comprises 60 multiple-choice Questions (MCQS), each carrying 1 mark. 

• Part B: comprises 40 multiple choice Questions (MCQS), each carrying 2 marks. 

Eligibility Criteria 

The eligibility criteria for the IOE Entrance Examination are as follows:

1. The examination is open to students who have completed 10+2 or equivalent examinations in the science stream.

2. Core subjects must include Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry.

3. Students must have obtained at least 45% aggregate score in the qualifying examination.

Passing IOE Entrance Exam Criteria:

1. Students must score 55 and above to pass the IOE entrance exam.

2. It is crucial to note that there is a negative marking for wrong answers.
