The budget focuses on improving education quality, building skilled human capital, and making education modern and technology-friendly.

 

 School Programs and Incentives

* 100 schools will receive Rs. 2.5 million each for improving academic performance.

* Schools will be re-mapped, merged based on resources, and given grants to improve.

* A teacher bank will address shortages in key subjects, and graduates will volunteer as teachers.

 

Support for Students

* Mid-day meals for 2.8 million students (up to Grade 5) with Rs. 10.19 billion.

* Free sanitary pads for 1.3 million female students with Rs. 1.29 billion.

* Scholarships for marginalized groups and remote communities with Rs. 2.44 billion.

 

Early Childhood and Digital Learning

* Rs. 10.16 billion allocated for early childhood workers and school staff.

* Digital learning portals and virtual teaching will be introduced.

* Hostels for students with disabilities will be provided.

 

Preserving Traditional Education

* Gurukul, Gumba, and Madarasa systems will be preserved for their uniqueness.

 

Infrastructure and Higher Education

* Rs. 2.72 billion for schools' infrastructure, focusing on large schools.

* Universities will focus on research, standardization, and reducing outbound student migration.

* Medical colleges in Bardibas, Butwal, Surkhet, and Dadeldhura will receive Rs. 560 million.

 

Technical Education and Skills Training

* Technical education quotas will increase in medicine, IT, engineering, and nursing.

* 26,900 youths will get technical training from CTEVT.

* Each province will have a model technical school for skill development.

 

University Reforms

* A comprehensive act will unify university governance.

* Grants will be tied to student numbers and academic performance.

* New universities like Dasharath Chand Health Sciences and Yogmaya Himalayan Ayurvedic University will be developed.

 

International Students and Scholarships

* Free visas for foreign students, with multiple-entry visas for guardians.

* Scholarships for poor and remote students in medical education to address public health needs.

 

Entrepreneurship and Internships

* Students will receive entrepreneurship training and internship opportunities.

* A work-study program will allow students to work 20 hours weekly at a minimum wage.

 

Total Allocation: Rs. 211.17 billion for the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology.
